Animal Behaviour

Animal Behaviour and Welfare

These fact sheets are provided as a guide to help you understand and reduce specific behaviour problems in a positive way.  Since every animal has a unique temperament and different experiences we, unfortunately, cannot address every situation.

We strongly recommend positive reinforcement training methods, however, many pets may have emotional or psychological problems that can not be solved with obedience so you may need to consult a qualified behaviourist or your veterinarian. In some instances there may be health issues that underlie a behaviour issue so it is important to have a routine health check with your veterinarian.

If you need the professional assistance to solve your pet's behaviour problem, we recommend you do a web consultation with a Pet Behaviour Consultant from "Pet Behavior.com." Go to
 www.petbehaviorproblems.com.

The staff at Pet Behavior Problem.com consists of animal behaviour consultants who are veterinarians or animal psychologists. They all work together to design unique behavioural therapy programs for each animal. Everyone at "Pet Behavior.com" has advanced degrees (DVM, Ph.D., Masters) and years of experience working with all kinds of animal behavior problems. Many of their staff members are considered to be the top veterinary behaviourists in the United States. They often teach at veterinary schools, lecture to veterinarians, and have written or contributed to several veterinary textbooks. In addition to helping owned animals in people's homes, they have also used our expertise to help animals without homes through working with several national humane organizations
